Aromatic plants of Istria's interior

Aromatic plants of Istria's interior

The campsite is home to a rich variety of Mediterranean plants, flourishing in the area's mild climate, sunny hills, and fertile soil. These plants contribute to the region's unique and fragrant identity:

  • Rosemary grows in rocky areas and along coastal paths. Its fresh, intense aroma reflects the Mediterranean atmosphere and is often used in local cuisine.
  • Lavender, with its purple blossoms and soothing scent, thrives in sunny locations and is commonly found in plantations and gardens.
  • Sage naturally grows in rocky, sunlit areas, and its aromatic leaves are highly valued in traditional medicine and cooking.
  • Mint is found in moist areas, especially near water sources, where its refreshing fragrance enhances the local flora.
  • Immortelle, with its golden-yellow flowers and intense scent, thrives in dry, rocky landscapes. Its regenerative properties make it an essential part of Istrian nature.
  • Marigold flourishes in meadows and plains, and its warm orange flowers are used in medicinal preparations.
